MP Caroline Flint inspires Sheffield’s female entrepreneurs to think BiG

 
Minister for Europe and Doncaster MP Caroline Flint attended a female entrepreneur showcase at the Alison Business Centre in Sheffield on Thursday 5th March 2009. 
 
The event celebrated Sheffield’s business women who have successfully set up their own business as part of the drive to increase enterprise activity in Sheffield.
 
Individuals who attended the showcase included Christine Overend from Crystal Beauty Salon, Petra Koncz of Hungarian Interpreting and Translation Services and Anne-Marie McManus from The Heavenly Sandwich Company. The female entrepreneurs spoke with the Minister about their experience of setting up and the support they had received from the BiG: Make it Your Business programme.
 
Speaking at the Alison Business Centre, Minister for Europe and Doncaster MP Caroline Flint said:
 
"With International Women’s Day fast approaching, it’s especially exciting to how this EU funded service has helped local woman become their own bosses. I’ve really enjoyed hearing their success stories and I am delighted that EU support will enable budding entrepreneurs from right across the city to access this service."
 
BiG: Make it Your Business offers a range of support to individuals and businesses from enterprise coaching to training, help finding premises and access to finance, support with setting up a franchise and sales and marketing.
