Maz and Caz Cafe

 Amanda ‘Maz’ Owen and Carol ‘Caz’ Haywood were born and bred on the Manor and had an ambition to open a cafe in the heart of the estate offering good, wholesome, affordable food.  They located an empty shop at Manor Park Centre and set about converting it into their business venture.

 

With the help of BiG, they received business and financial planning support and help in putting together a successful BiG loan application. The Maz and Caz Café opened it doors in August 2008. 

 

Business boomed from the outset thanks to its instantly-found reputation of caring for the local community, particularly the elderly. Two staff were needed to meet demand from regulars and passing trades people. BiG team members based at the Manor are enjoying fantastic service with the warm and friendly atmosphere and have become regular customers themselves. The menu at the Maz and Caz Café is praised for its wide variety and daily specials which are a “BiG” hit with their regulars.
